    The world celebrates “Women” on March, 8 - The International Women’s Day. The power, inspiration and enigma of women is meant to be celebrated every day. We often echo - Evolution of Man - but women play a critical role in the metamorphosis of the world order from ancient Greek history to modern-day innovations - women have been, and continue to play significant roles in every aspect of progress in the world.

    400 BC Greece

    Agnodice acknowledged as the first female gynecologist.

    1691 Mexico

    Sister Sor Juana Inés de la Crux was an established writer who defended the right to education for women.

    1860 Russia

    Anna Filosofova, a Russian philanthropist co-founded a community to help and support poor women with education, work, and housing.

    1893 New Zealand

    Kate Sheppard was a renowned suffragist was instrumental in leading and acquiring the grant for women’s right to vote in 1893.

    1911 Japan

    Raicho Hiratsuka was a celebrated political activist, writer, editor, co-founder of Japan's literary journal - Seito, operated and managed by women only.

    1951 Egypt

    A pioneer in Egypt’s women’s rights movement - Doria Shafik worked towards the pavement of women’s right to vote in the country in 1956.

    1951 United Kingdom

    Rosalind Franklin was a British chemist, accredited to discover the double-helix structure of our DNA through X-RAY diffraction.

    1960 Guatemala

    Rigoberta Menchú is a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, campaigner for ethnographies-cultural reconciliation, social justice of the rights of indigenous people during the Civil War of Guatemala.

    1973 USA

    Billie Jean King - Queen and champion of tennis, social change activist - was the power behind the introduction of pay equality in the US Open tournament in 1973.

    1992 Botswana

    Unity Dow was the first female High Court judge of Botswana and the defining force behind the case that allowed the San people of Botswana to remigrate to the ancestral motherland.

    1990s India

    Vandana Shiva is a stalwart activist and environmentalist. She established Navdanya in the early 90s in India for the conservation of crops and eco-diversity education amongst farmers and the empowerment of women.

    2016 Zimbabwe

    Ruvimbo Tsopodzi and Loveness Mudzuru were former child brides who created history in the year 2016 by taking the Zimbabwean government to court and invalidating the practice of child marriage in the country.

    Let’s celebrate the strong personalities whose existence in the world proves the force of nature - who are unchallengeable, persistent and mighty beings - with an alleviating, tranquil cup of tea.

    Women are the embodiment of persistence, patience, and perseverance. They play life’s vital roles that create the best in mankind - from being a mother, wife, sister, girlfriend, daughter to a best-friend - a woman molds herself to deliver the best in the person present in her life. While multitasking is their second nature, it is critical to ensure their health and well-being.

    We should dedicate this Women’s Day to the health, wellbeing and nurturing of the women in your life. Ensuring her good health means guaranteeing a flourishing future!
